WordPress runs a large share of the web for a simple reason: the site belongs to you. You can move hosts, add pages, change your phone number and export everything without asking permission or paying a monthly fee to keep it online. Closed website builders do not give you that.
It also gives search engines a clean structure to work with. Titles, meta descriptions, headings, URLs, schema and sitemaps are all under your control, which matters the day you decide to run an SEO campaign properly.
The catch is that WordPress rewards good setup and punishes bad setup. A site loaded with twenty plugins, uncompressed photos and a bloated theme is slow no matter how good the design looks. Careful web design and development is what separates the two.

Questions before you commit.
It depends on how many pages you need and whether you need ecommerce, so I do not publish a fixed rate card. A small five page site for a local business sits well below a multi location or WooCommerce build. Send me a rough idea of what you need and I will give you a real number, not a range designed to hide one.
A small business site usually runs two to four weeks from approved content. The part that slows most projects down is not the build, it is waiting on text, photos and logins, so the faster you get me those, the faster it launches.
You do not, but I recommend it for most small businesses. You own the site, you can edit it without a developer, and it handles SEO better than most drag and drop website builders once it is set up correctly. If a page builder site suits you better, I will say so.
Often yes. If the content is decent and only the design and speed are letting it down, a redesign keeps your existing rankings and costs less. If the structure is the problem, a rebuild with proper redirects is usually the safer call. I will look first and tell you which one applies.
A good build removes the technical reasons a site cannot rank, and it gives you clean structure and content to start from. Ranking still needs ongoing work: content, local signals and links. That is why website design and SEO are offered together, and why the build is structured so an SEO campaign can start immediately on top of it.
